After 12 months NM. sun faded the sidemarker lens to pale yellow. No fix except to take them apart.
After 18 months leaked and caused condensation (ugly). Reseal with silicone and back in good shape.
I have had no issues at all with the led's or halo's.

Ok... to clear up some misconceptions:

Any Aftermarket housing for these cars are pretty bad. Cheaply made, poorly coated, ill fitting pieces of crap. The output is alright if you use HID.

That being said, the best solution is to do a retrofit job into the OEM housings by using HID projectors. Mkulrey, a vendor on the site sells them: http://buyhids.com/retrofit_headlights.html

They're not cheap, but they are the best solution. Best fit, best cutoff, best projection...etc.

Did your mechanic say that projectors weren't good in general or just for our cars?

Likely referring to the aftermarket lamps since that is usually what most people inquire about. The ebay style lights are common on many cars. Actual retrofit jobs use the OEM housing and are usually done with very high quality HID designed housings that are used in OEM applications.
